I guess it just got embarrassing to have a lack of growth in cyberspace. Oddly, it is actually true to pornography websites. As the saying goes, why pay when you can get it for free?
Paysites such as Vivid Entertainment and the soft-core masters at Playboy are also struggling on the World Wide Web. The culprit? Too many websites are giving smut away.
I was a bit surprised to see that several free adult websites have crept into Alexa.com’s traffic ratings of the 100 most visited websites in the country.
Today, YouPorn is the No. 1 adult site in the world; Vivid.com, a pay site, is ranked 14,043. According to Alexa, a website-ranking company, YouPorn’s overall rank is higher than CNN.com (56), About.com (86), and Weather.com (107).

YouPorn.com is generating more traffic than New York Times’ website.
RedTube.com is trumping Apple’s Apple.com.
Pornhub.com is outdrawing Netflix.
The Internet was supposed to be a no-brainer for companies like Playboy, but penny-pinching surfers seem to have no problem settling for free amateur titillation.
So in a matter of months, with no real promotional budget, a new porn site easily outpaced CNN and Weather.com. And it’s not as if YouPorn is the only porn site out there, and so escapes all competition.
Nope. It’s just that people really like porn. And its the only one you don’t everyone have to go near a credit card to access.
